    As Free as Air

I enjoyed listening to this talk given by Ajahn Amaro at Amaravati Monastery, in which he discusses the Eight Precepts and what they're based on, and how we should examine our habits and impulses.(approx. 29 minutes)

"The root of our way of life is the pure heart."

    Nice talk!

Even when I tend to follow the eight precepts as a consequence of having Zazen during the day the one of the food is really hard for me to follow it strictly. I really cant do one and only one food for all the day. I'm trying to eat less... small amounts of food after noon and a little soup before going to sleep; that is the precept I follow for food inclinations.

    Hello Aloka,
I also like this teaching. It made me reflect on the importance of being aware of moods and impulses, and the minds inclination to follow them. Lately I have found myself chasing moods of irritation, and annoyance, without reflecting on their source.

    Thank you for sharing this.

    Kind regards
