    Two quotes on Zazen

I don't remember from where they came, but I have presented this two quotes from when I practice Zazen...

"Zazen is an act of love for yourself and for the others"
Dokusho Villalba. Spanish Zen master of Luz Serena Temple

"Zazen makes you intimate with yourself"
    Kodo Zawaki Roshi

Do you experiment with this same experience in your meditative tradition?

Yes Esho, I like to think that it is the basis of all Buddhist schools, the umbrella concept for Theravada Buddhism is Sila, Samadhi, Panna - Ethics, Meditation and wisdom.

I believe that you can not have any of those in sufficient quantity to see the path unless you have a reasonable amount of self-confidence, this comes from Metta for yourself and others, if you are aversive toward yourself, it is difficult to have equanimous intimacy in meditation

In vipassana meditation, it is recommended that you balance the five faculties of Faith/ conviction with Wisdom. Concentration with energy and mindfulness as the arbiter, without considering it an act of intimate love for yourself there is little equanimity and equanimity is the ground for clear seeing

Thanks McKmike... in Zen it is said that the simple act of sitting in Zazen makes the whole Universe with all the sentient beings in it to be in Zazen.
