    I think enlightenment is be able to watch this video without noticing how pretty that girl is.

    In all seriousness, I like this definition : ''Enlightment is a universal conscience".

    It comes from a friend who was a Tibetan Buddhist practitioner.

    Enlightenment is said to be the cessation of greed, hatred and delusion.....or to quote the late Thai teacher Ajahn Chah: "the reality of non- grasping".

    This is a book called "The Island" which is an anthology of the Buddha's teachings on Nibanna in the Pali Canon.

    Looks like Ajahn Chah was a big influence to you, since you quote him quite often.
    Could that be an idea for a new thread ? I mean linking books that got us really started in Buddhism and explain why ?
