    A good description of how to view the difference between the mind and the thoughts which arise from it, ie sky and clouds or sea and waves. That meditation should be switching on rather than switching off. To stop the mind wandering we use mindfulness of breathing, returning to the breath. Personally I use counting of the breath so that I know when my mind is wandering.
