'Pandemic' is a word generally interpreted as a health disaster where it actually merely appears to refer to the prevalence of a disease rather than its health effects

Covid-19 without lockdowns is estimated by some to have a mortality rate of 600 per 1,000,000 or 6 per 10,000 or 0.06%

Naturally, certain individuals are more vulnerable

The head of the US CDC Robert R. Redfield has already said there are more excess suicides and overdoses than COVID deaths.

Personally, I'm just following the basic guidelines in my country and getting on with life as best I can....and one thing I don't want to do is to start getting involved with the politics around it all and some of the wild assumptions to be found around the internet & media in general.

As Buddhists, we should consider what is harmful and not harmful. Following the basic guidelines in one's country means 100% involvement in politics, because one is following the directives of politicians rather than examining medical opinion and the realities of the experience of other nations. Kind regards

I already examine medical and scientific opinions as well as pay attention to what appears to be happening around the rest of the planet thanks, and I don't make a habit of becoming actively involved in politics, other than to feel private dismay at much of it.

"Following the basic guidelines in one's country" can just mean simple precautions such as washing one's hands regularly and not throwing one's arms around and kissing on both cheeks with every person one comes into contact with, which is about common sense rather than "100% involvement in politics."

    Have a good day Element.
