    Silence

I used to make a lot of noise with loud music; mainly classical, jazz and rock. I was in deep suffering yelling to the world through music. Then I started doing Zazen years ago. Suffering started to heal and silence became important in my lifestyle and in my daily life. I lived in a very noisy neighborhood and the need of silence to continue Zazen become a trouble. We decided to leave that place. We found a nice home in the woods, far from noisy and crowded places. Then I could continue Zazen and silence become an important aspect of my daily life. I become a much more quite person. We do not speak too much. No more chit chat; no more insubstantial talking. I stop hearing music. I prefer silence, inner and outer silence. I live in a very quite and lonely place in the woods. Its just wonderful. Zazen has become delightful and the practice of the Dharma deeper than before and silence a fundamental part of my daily life.

I thank God for this blessings.

I would love to hear more about your concept of god, Esho.

This thread is about silence not about the idea I have of God, but anyway I will elaborate a little about it.

For me god is something that approaches the experience of the true reality of all dharmas; like a cosmic consciousness or emptiness where things manifest. 'Ku' in japanese. I don't want to elaborate too much because it is a huge mystery that only can be experienced not reasoned.
