    Hello there

    Hi everybody,

I am a rookie on this forum. My firstname is Cyril. I live in France, precisely in Dijon : this city is the capital of the administrative area called Bourgogne-Franche Comté (Burgundy - Free County).

I registered at that forum for 3 reasons :
    - I've been a buddhist for 25 years. I follow the Thai Forest Tradition (Theravada). My masters are Ajahn Chah (1918-1992) and Ajahn Brahm (abbot in Western Australia). I never met them, but I read their books or talks.

    - I'd like to improve my english, to become more fluent (my natal language is french)

    - in France the confinement (due to Covid-19 plague) will go on until May the 11th. I telework, but there's time left to do something new and interesting.

    Kind regards,
    Cyril

    Hi Cyril.
I accidentally went to Dijon once ( best mustard in the world, I think) when I was a student. I took a night sleeper from Italy and was headed for Lyon, but overslept and found myself in Dijon. as pretty carefree in those days so I went to Paris instead of Lyon and camped on the Bois de Boulogne. Anyway, welcome to the forum. Have just started learning French again, on Duolingo, part of my lockdown activities. Take care.
    Au revoir,
    Phil

    Welcome to Buddhism Without Boundaries.
I also follow the Thai Forest Tradition. I listen to Ajahn Chah and Ajahn Brahm as well as a few others.
I look forward to reading your posts!

    Bonjour Philg,
You are brave : French is not the easiest language to learn. Plenty of french people don't write it correctly
Dijon is indeed famous for the mustard ; but also for gingerbread and blackcurrant cream (liqueur).
Bon courage (this phrase is the most popular in France nowadays)
    Kind regards,
    Cyril

    Hi Justusryans,
In this troubled time I recommend that you read Ajahn Brahm best book (in my humble opinion) : "Who Ordered This Truckload of Dung ? : Inspiring Stories for Welcoming Life's Difficulties ". Deep, smart and funny.
    With metta,
    Cyril
