86 Tigers Rescued from Thailand’s “Tiger Temple” Reported to Have Died

    Dear friends,

I was very saddened by this article that I read just now on the Buddhist Door website and wondered if anyone had any comments:

Yes Aloka, I read about this recently. Evidently the abbot was being uncooperative about the whole thing, and denied knowing anything about it. Now they are still not surviving.Just makes me feel sad.

The article suggests that the tigers were being kept at the monastery for tourism and money-making purposes. That seems like exploitation, to me.

Reports of the death of the innocent tigers are saddening, for sure.
