    The Dalai Lama has suggested that any female that succeeds him as Buddhist leader must be attractive, despite receiving backlash for similar comments he made in 2015.

    Well, I think he is making a valid point, even though it's a wrong thing to say. If there is an ugly woman who becomes the next DL, people will consider her looks before what she says or represents. I don't think this is right, but I think that is how women are evaluated these days when things like that should have long been removed from our psyche. And, if she is too vocal, that will be a problem. Here in the US, women who express rightful anger or are too strong are vilified. Same with how they look. Men, no worries. Doesn't matter what you look like or how much of an a-hole you are.
