How to include links in posts

    Woodscooter.

There should also be a way to provide a link which automatically refers to a given website or HTML address. If anyone is aware of that, please inform us, so that we can take advantage of it. To explain further, on other forums, Buddhist and otherwise, there is a means of writing the topic (say of a sutta) and have it directly linked to the source: accesstoinsight, underlined, but only the underlined title of the source shows.

    https://www.accesstoinsight.org/

The icon showing the world with a link at the base only provides what is seen directly above and does not allow a label.

What is the secret to doing this? (If any).

Certainly I'll share the secret with you, Olderon, and others who may be wondering.

There's more than one way to do it, but the simplest way to do it is this:

Go to the page you want to link to, and highlight & copy the web address in the browser's address bar.

Now come back to your BWB post and type in the title of the sutta, or the word(s) that you want to become a link.

Highlight the word(s) that you want to become a link and click on the link icon at the top of your posting box ( 'the icon showing the world with a link at the base' ). A window pops up where you can paste the web address you had previously copied. Then click 'OK'.

    All done.
