Recently, I heard that the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin had stepped in to sing "Nessun Dorma" when the great tenor Pavarotti had a sore throat and was unable to perform.

It took place at the 1998 Grammy Awards, when Pavarotti was given the "Grammy Legend" award for a lifetime's achievement.

Aretha sang the aria in English and showed the full range and power of her voice. Love it!
