Have just come across this article regarding Nichiren Daishonin (http://www.dnaindia.com/lifestyle/report_the-new-age-laughing-buddhists_1676013)
and wondered if anyone here was familiar with it? (I'm not, hence the post).

I googled it and on the main site, found the following quote which made me feel quite uncomfortable...

Practicing Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism will make you happy, secure and prosperous. It will make you more enlightened. It will let you become one with the Universal Law.

If you want to read more on this before commenting, here's the link...http://www.nichirendaishoninsbuddhism.com/

Hi Moonfeet,

I wasn't able to read your first link because i-Pad pop-ups kept obscuring it !

I don't know anything about this organisation myself but we have some Nirichen threads in our Mahayana/Vajrayana forum you might like to browse - and we have some Nirichen members in the group. The Mahayana forum is therefore a better place for any discussion, so I'll move the thread there.

When I started to explore Buddhism some time ago I met a wonderful person, now a friend, that told me about Nichiren Buddhism. I attended their ceremony and rites but they do not resonated with me. What was really nice was the warmth of that Sangha. Most of the people there was very nice. But it is not the kind of thing that goes with me.
